Dolls, plush toys, mannequins, male bodies... Electra grew up in a traumatizing world. In her memories, her mind fragments into abstract scenes that she struggles to piece back together. Perhaps if the long-lifeless objects were brought to life, like her father’s childhood dolls, which appear alive through pixelation... This Czech short film premiered at Cannes and won an award at TIFF in Toronto. In the Czech Republic, it took the Czech Lion Awards and the Czech Film Critics’ Awards by storm. Director Dara Kascheeva builds on her successful short film, Daughter, and further develops the mix of animation and live-action film.
