Deadly animal diseases are spreading around the world. For Karen Lips, frogs are the center of her world – years ago, she moved into the rainforest in Costa Rica and decided to study them. She loved listening to the symphony of their croaking. But one day, the symphony suddenly fell silent. The frogs disappeared… The animated documentary Waiting is primarily a crime story about searching for missing frogs and uncovering the terrible truths about endangered species. The film by documentarian Volker Schlecht premiered at the Berlinale festival, where it competed for the Golden Bear for Best Short Film.
