One last breath of fresh air… Helka is on the threshold of a new chapter in her life. After her wedding, she leaves her home village and sets off to join her husband. She is leaving her family and the place that has shaped her since childhood. She takes with her the only memory of her home – her mother’s feather duvet. This short drama was directed by Angelika Cygal at the National Film School of Poland in Łódź. The director, who grew up in a small farming village in southern Poland, often explores themes of rural life, memory and subtle expressions of spirituality in her work. The film was screened as part of the PÖFF Shorts competition at the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn.
