Faustyna is a twenty-two-year-old woman who is still searching for her self. For a long time, those around her did not allow her to be herself, so she is now trying to take control of her own life. She balances between two seemingly different worlds – sex work and theatre – which help her to better understand her own identity. This intimate documentary study was directed by the Polish filmmaker, Natalia Durszewicz, whose previous short film, Beasts Among Us (2021) was screened in the competition section at the Cannes Film Festival. Her documentary debut, Faustyna, was made at the National Film School of Poland in Łódź and has won awards at a number of international festivals.
