The unique auteur project, 40 Roles, is a mosaic of forty short scenes. Each is centered around one distinct acting role and filmed on a single roll of 16mm film. This genre mix of comedy, drama, and documentary captivates with its wide thematic range — what will you find in it? 40 Roles is the directorial debut of Pavel Berkovič, a highly active cinematographer mainly in the television industry (Sense of Tumour; The Roubal Case). The cast surprises with a number of prominent actors and directors, including Josef Abrhám, Eliška Křenková, Kryštof Hádek, Václav Marhoul, Alžběta Malá, Filip Březina, Tomáš Klus, Veronika Khek Kubařová, and many more.
