The life in a village near the border has always been filled with solidarity, but suddenly, the times come when one must choose who’s Austrian, German, or Czech. It’s necessary to choose which of the neighbours is an ally, and who an enemy. Marie is Czech, her husband Austrian. They have a house, fields, they bring up their son and try to do what is right. They watch the growing animosity of the village people, until the wrath hits them too. A historical epos by director Bohdan Sláma.
