Gregorius is a sinner. His parents were sinners too. In fact, everyone in his world sins. That is why he wants to become a knight. And perhaps even the Pope. Simply someone with a virtuous heart. After all, inside every sinner there is a bit of a saint. A historical absurd comedy, drama, or puppet animation—the latest work by Tomasz Mielnik presents a unique cinematic vision filled with unexpected twists and a touch of Monty Python. Mielnik continues with the absurd comedy streak that was already present in his feature debut, Journey to Rome (2015). The adaptation of Thomas Mann's final novel premiered at this year's KVIFF.
