Everybody knows Bedřich Smetana as a world-renowned composer. But director Marek Najbrt (Protector, Polski film) has always liked to challenge established narratives. His biographical film Smetana is therefore about much more than music, it’s a portrait of a complex personality - about Smetana’s lifelong search for love and inspiration, his trauma from the tragic loss of hearing, but also about his promiscuity and infidelity. This Czech Television production stars Václav Neužil Jr., Sarah Haváčová, Denisa Barešová, and Jana Plodková.
