The Huček family lives in Varnsdorf, a Sudeten town right on the border with Germany. The situation is far from ideal for the local Roma community, especially after the anti-Roma riots of 2011. The family’s fate becomes even more complicated when they take in children in existential crisis. The observational documentary, Dajori (Romani for 'mother'), follows their daily life over the course of three years, capturing moments of conflict, aggression, but also love and tragicomedy. Directors Martin Páv and Nicolas Kourek received both the Audience Award and Original Approach Award at the Ji.hlava festival. The film was also nominated at the Czech Film Critics’ Awards.
